Born and raised in Mongolia, Uyanga “Angie” Mendbayar is deeply passionate in bringing equal access, especially to food and energy security. She graduated with her B.S. in geological engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) in 2015 and has completed her Occupational Endorsement in Sustainable Energy in 2021 from UAF-Bristol Bay online program. She has experience working for the Juneau District Heating project and for solar projects in rural Alaskan communities. As the biomass internfor Southeast Conference, she is working to update the state biomass database and to create a spatial database in ArcGIS for mapping biomass demand and supply in our state.
